The 2nd Birthday

Well, it came and went....Garrett's 1st birthday! We had a number of fabulous family members over for cake and ice cream, and Garrett loved every minute of it--from "helping" Daddy put together his new toy from Grandma....

to playing with his big sister, Trinity, and his cousin, Kaydin...

...to travelling from his high chair to the bathtub to be scrubbed clean!

He loved his cake, that's for sure! And, it turns out, I was right about not him not needing someone to smash his hands into the cake before he dove in. He started out with one finger in the frosting,

watching us all the while to see if someone was going to stop him, then went to two fingers, then handfuls of frosting,

next, handfuls of cake, then on to two-fisting it,

ending with wrapping his face with the paper plate.

Yep, I was definitely right to strip him down to the diaper!
